Every Sunday morning, millions of motorists in the UK and elsewhere around the world get the trusty bucket and sponge out of the garage or the shed and proceed to clean their cars. For many of us, it becomes something of an obsession, and the most dedicated polishers of all won’t even rest until the very last piece of road dust is removed from the bodywork.
The local petrol garage may well have a car wash machine, but for the purists it will never be good enough to do the job properly. After all, how can a few brushes and hoses be expected to achieve in five minutes what it would take a human being an hour or more to do? It might be sufficient for some, but not for everyone.
Enjoy the power trip
If you’re one of those drivers who really need that showroom shine but don’t want to spend ages trying to achieve it, it’s high time you went to a car gadgets website and checked out the power washers. There are several available, and at prices to suit all pockets.
A top quality washer will be able to get into all the nooks and crannies of your car, and can get rid of all kinds of stains. Even the more stubborn materials such as bird droppings and tree sap will be no match, and it only takes a few minutes to give even the largest vehicle a thorough cleansing.
Get the perfect finish
And when the power washer has done its job, the perfect finish is achieved with a chamois leather. It removes all the surplus water from the bodywork and the glass surfaces, and is perfect for that smear-free look. Although a tip-top cleaning job may take a little time, the overall effect is always worth it.
However, there’s no point having the exterior of the vehicle looking perfect if the interior is dirty. It’s surprising how quickly the dashboard, seats and carpets can become stained and dusty, but a hand-held vacuum cleaner can be used to restore the perfect look. And again it only takes a few minutes.
When cleaning the interior, it’s important to remember that you need to remove the dust altogether, rather than just re-distribute it. Therefore, an effective vacuum cleaner will be far better than a cloth or a feather duster. A little extra care will soon bring benefits for the motorist.
David Rice is based in the UK and spends every Sunday morning cleaning his vehicle. He regularly visits his local car accessories store to see what’s on special offer. He has bought many sat navs over the years, but none has been better than his trusty power washer.
Windshield replacement is a service that plenty of people may need at some point. We sat down with Romanowsky Lerner of windshield replacement Atlanta to ask some of the most commonly asked questions.
“What does a windshield replacement cost?” Romanowsky explains, “It depends on what type of vehicle you are looking at. I’ve seen them go from $150 to $550. Yeah, it really does vary. Also depends on what type of features you want. The second question we ask is whether it can be avoided. “Nothing can ever be completely avoided. That goes for car windshield replacement too. But there are things that can be done to lower the chances. The first thing is to be sure that at the first sign of repair, its taken care of. Don’t wait. Also use common sense when driving.”
Then we proceed to ask him whether he’s had to shop for windshield replacement before. “Believe it or not, yes. My car got hit by a rock and it made quite the dent.” Also we ask him whether he has a favorite product? “I don’t. And the reason I don’t is because it really depends on what you’re looking for.”
